Bishop Ed Juanich visits Milan

Bishop Ed Juanich together with his lay missionaries, Clarke Nebrao & Fem Paguio, visited the Filipinos in Milan last February 11-12 in what proved to be a short visit but turned out to be a very fruitful mission.

With the help of Couples for Christ Milan and the FCSL (Filipino Community of San Lorenzo), Bishop Ed was able to celebrate the Holy Eucharist with various Filipinos in Milan to inspire them and move them on the mission stories of the good Bishop.  Our brethren in Milan was also tasked to rally around the two advocacies of Bishop Ed mainly about the environment and the Taytay Cathedral.  Our brethren agreed to help Bishop Ed in ensuring that they will partake in the NO TO MINING IN PALAWAN Campaign and sign up to this cause at the same our Filipino communities in Milan gave their very best in helping out for the completion of construction of the St. Joseph the Worker Cathedral.  The generosity came instantly as various individuals stepped up in giving to the construction.

It has 40% of our countries remaining mangrove areas, 30% of our coral reefs, at least 17 of our key Biodiversity Areas, 2 UNESCO World Heritage sites, and 8 declared protected areas.  It is unmatched anywhere in the country for the variety of species of flora and fauna food here.  But it is also fragile, with a thin layer of topsoil that is prone to erosion.
